Week 4: Applying Colour Theory

Week 4: Applying colour theory. This week we focused on assessing previous pieces of ours and using colour theory to help show theme and mood with our work. From this, we were tasked to create a concept out of a given prompt. I chose the frog prince because I wanted to work with the golds and royal colours you would typically see with a prince. With the colour theory, I attempted a triad colour theme, this can be seen through the use of green red and yellow. I wanted to have a complementary colour scheme as well because I knew I would be working with red and green what with the subject matter. I think if I was to tackle this task again I would create some thumbnails as I think the pose and scene are rather stationary and I need to improve on using more action poses. However, I mainly took the easier route so that I could apply a background to the image. I think that to improve this piece I could also apply some greater values as the shadows and highlights are rather unseeable and this is because the tone wasn't very varied with the character. Last weeks struggle has also shown itself as I struggled with rendering the clothes to a good standard.
